OPINION: The Truth behind the history of the AFIA

CAPITOL - On September 14th 2020, the First President of the Arstotzkan Union, Ethan Brinkman along with the Second President, Peter Geyde and General Piran McGee established Arstotzkan High Command as well as placed the then Ministry of Intelligence into High Command as the now Department of Intelligence and National Security (which is may was replaced by the new State Committee for National Security and Intelligence and is now the wing of the Executive Committee), however in the new department included the Arstotzkan Union Security and Intelligence Service (AUSIS), which had been around since the first commemoration day on August 22nd 2019, and a new department known as the National Intelligence Bureau, a fresh new High Command agency tasked with foreign and domestic intelligence, which aimed at improving national sovereignty and protecting the freedoms of everyday Arstotzkan people.

Months after the departments inception, many in the, now Federal Government, and High Command began to question why the First President and then Supreme Commanding General as to the reason for the departments creation. What many didn't know was that the NIB was hard at work collecting intelligence on Arstotzkan Citizens. On November 26th 2020 when the First President announced war with the CDG, agents from the Technology Directorate of the NIB had already hacked and intercepted communications by some of the top CDG officials which became highly important when then First President Zion Ormsby and Major General Ethan Brinkman launched a full scale military invasion of Johnston D.T. on April 15th 2021.

What many Arstotzkan's don't know is some of the other operations conducted by the NIB and later AFIA (Arstotzkan Federal Intelligence Agency, it had its name changed after the end of the Federalisation of the Arstotzkan Union in January of 2021). Talking to former Deputy Intelligence Chief, Lt. Stephan Metz, he informed the AUNNN of Operation: Vnutrennyaya Razvedka (or Domestic Intelligence). According to information provided by Lt. Metz, on July 1st 2021, the First President along with the Senior Commander of the AFIA began Operation Domestic Intelligence. The operation saw information collection on several high ranking Arstotzkan officials. These include the Second President, Vice President and Deputy Minister of Civil Protection. Another document was released for another individual but it has become highly censored and so information relating to who this individual is remains unknown.

Lt. Metz also informed the AUNNN that On September 2nd 2021 the Arstotzkan Federal Intelligence Service released a document that was originally created by the AUSIS, known as Operation: Independence. The operation is possibly one of the most intriguing Metz said. "Operation Independence was not created as the Arstotzkan Federal Government will have you believe but rather it was, what we call, Nuclear Operation[s]. Only three operations in Arstotzkan History were given the status as Nuclear Options. Operation Independence was the first; Why? Because it contained two battle plans, Battle Risk Free and Battle Warfare. Of these two Battle Warfare was the worst as it would a bloody and hostile take over of the New Zealand Parliament and force the Cabinet of New Zealand to recognize Arstotzkan Sovereignty."

The Operation was never fully completed and never left the drafting phase as it was quickly banned by the First President in an emergency session of the National Assembly on May 23rd 2020

According to Metz, the two other operations were Operation: Foreign Destruction, also known as the Arstotzkan Invasion of the CDG and the current being Operation Peacekeeping III, the latest in military motives against the Alliance, with the Arstotzkan Union set to be joined by the new Ward Empire. However he states that Foreign Destruction and Peacekeeping III are more like small scale Nuclear Operations rather than full nuclear operations like Independence.

In April of 2022 Lt. Metz resigned as Deputy Intelligence Chief and in May the AFIA was merged with the ASNSA to form what he calls a Soviet-style, KGB like group known as the State Committee for National Security and Intelligence. He says the the name and logo both share incredible similarities. The KGB's name in English was the 'Committee for State Security'. He also goes on to state that the structure of the SCNSI is similar to that of the KGB, with the main intelligence departments or the KGB and SCNSI being known as 'Directorates'.

Metz also says to Arstotzkan's to be worried regarding the Civilian Security Branch (CSB). He states that the intentions of the CSB are just as bad as Stalin's MGB and have been made by the Executive Chairman and Executive Committee as a way to spy and imprison Arstotzkan's, without prior conviction. However when we raised this concern with the Executive Chairman and Chairman of Intelligence, Ethan Brinkman and Peter Gedye, they stated "Arstotzkan citizens are protected under Section 3, Article 16 of the Constitution and that the [CSB] was not created to act like the KGB and is rather created to be there to protect the civilian population of the Arstotzkan Union in the event of an invasion. The CSB has been created to act in close coordination with the 1/1, 1/2 and 2/1 Battalions of the 1st and 2nd Regiments of the Arstotzkan Army Corp to ensure protected areas of citizens stay protected if the Union Proper is ever invaded. If I or my Comrade were to discover that the CSB were to be acting outside this, we would immediately shut it down and anyone involved would be punished severely. The protection of every free Arstotzkan Citizen is my most highest priority as First President"
