Arstotzkan Federal Government approves July 2022 Foreign Policy

CAPITOL - The Arstotzkan Federal Government and First President have created the new July 2022 Foreign Policy which overrides the original June 2021 Foreign Policy and adds new light to the current and very unstable geo-political situation unfolding in the South China Sea / Taiwan Strait.

In a late night meeting of the Executive Committee and the Arstotzkan Executive War Council, the First President's Press Secretary has announced the Arstotzkan Union will re-instate the recognition of an alliance with the United States of America, in the event that the People's Republic of China declares war on them.

This comes after news the Speaker to the United States House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi announced her bid to go to Taiwan (Republic of China, the Arstotzkan Union officially recognizes it as an independent nation). However this order has been met with major backlash from the PRC which has placed the Eastern Theater Command of the People's Liberation Army near the Taiwan Strait. In a counter to this the United States has placed two carrier strike groups in the strait. The PRC Foreign Affairs Minister confirmed to Chinese state media on Monday that if Pelosi arrives in Taiwan or attempts to enter Taiwanese Airspace, militarist consequences will be taken.

The First President has understood these warnings and has announced that any action of war against the United States will be met with a declaration of war from the Arstotzkan Union. The First President has legal approval for this as it was granted unanimously by the AEWC (Arstotzkan Executive War Council) last night. An action which usually requires consent from the AEWC as per the provisions of the War and Conflicts Act 2021, which was brought in to reduce executive privilege when it comes to declaring war.

The First President did also state that if New Zealand does not declare war, the Arstotzkan Union will still declare war. Also a emergency alert has been announced to have been made by the AUNNN and the First President in the event that war breaks out.

A public copy of the July 2022 Foreign Policy is in the works at the moment according to the Office of the Presidency.
